Tour

pretty self explanatory folks.

Do any other bands do this?

Because it seems that what started as a great idea has turned into a nightmare. They should just give members a password for a pre-sale and that's it. Then sell to the public. Like everyone else does.

On the A Bigger Bang tour the Stones had a membership you could buy that got you early access to tickets. Those tickets were sometimes very good and sometimes they were just about what you'd get out of any other pre-sale, like AmEx. It was a much more useful thing to have on the Fourty Licks tour because of the fact that they played three shows on each city stop - stadium, arena and then club. Being able to get two cracks (fan club, then regular onsale if you failed in fan club) at those club shows was worth $100 to some people. This time around there were some AmEx presales, but the whole fan club thing is done for them, at least for the moment.

I also believe U2 has some sort of fan club thing for tickets.

Whoa, forgot they went on sale, actually. Oh well. I may be able to get Brooklyn tickets through a source, if I don't, I don't. Booked the hotel in Baltimore - my wife found it, it's like 2 blocks from the venue, really nice, and was $150 - I told her to book it the day she found it - about a week before the ticket lottery. Did she? No, she did not. She did not book it after I told her to. Instead she waits until the lottery, and now the room is $250.

We always get one of the rooms with a little kitchenette.
5 miles from the venue, away from all the chatter. 2 nights for $182.99.
The first night is $103 and the second night is $79.99. I have no idea why.

The Cure will be at Voodoo Fest. I enjoyed SOME of their stuff. But I'm not sure I'd want to watch a 50 something year old in the goth makeup and Edward Scissorhands wig.

Does he still wear that?

I know that plate is probably supposed to be read as "A New Start", but I can't get past the fact that it says "Anus Tart". Gil concurs.

At least you guys are getting a proper tour. Us Aussies have to go to a touring festival next January that nearly everyone hates. PJ will be the second last band on the lineup and will do two hour sets. Blur is the closing act.
