Lightning Bolt? Is that the name of the new album?

New song is jamming. Mike needs some new effects.

Sounds like a cross between Ramones, Sex Pjstols and KISS, with a little James addiction sprinkled on top.

Jesus, that description sounds fucking terrible.

Furthermore, is the Sex Pjstols some sort of John Lydon/Bjork collaboration? That I would like.

Listening as I type this. Reminds me of Bad Religion.

No wait. Sounds like Pearl Jam. Like new Pearl Jam. Which, come on... kinda sucks.

His voice has seen better days. At least Matt's snare sounds decent - on this song at least.

I remember hearing "Alive" first for Ten... I knew right away it was great stuff.

Then I heard either "Animal" or "Leash" first for Vs. Knew it was also great.

For Vitalogy I heard "Last Exit" first... Was shocked with the different sound but still, knew it was great.

"Present Tense" was the first "No Code" song I heard... blew my mind.

"Brain of J" also signaled a great (and quite possibly the best) PJ album.

For Binaural it was "Nothing as it seems" and I also was glad that they still had greatness in them.

Then I heard "Save You" first for Riot Act... Something was wrong... and that was the beginning of the end of their greatness for me. This song sounds like a sped up "Comatose" to me. Ed's desire to be a punk rocker is silly. This is a band with a very solid fanbase. They should be able to risk aging with their music and their fans, not trying to capture a young audience with angst and speed.

Good post.

When I heard the video version of Even Flow, that was it for me. To this day I get goosebumps when I hear it. Then it was release..... Fantastic 'new' music o me at the time.

Anxiously awaiting VS, I heard 'Go' and animal and this is my favorite PJ album. Solid greatness from front to back.

Last exit was the first Vitalogy song I heard. Again awesome album from front to back. Immortality is simple yet elegant.

Heard Hail hail off of No Code and was pleased. Bought the cassette and pressed play.....,I thought What the eff is this I'm listening to. It was such a departure. Took a couple of listens. Other than that disgusting I'm Open, I enjoyed the album. Red mosquito and I'm my tree are my favorite.

Yield was probably the best album the made. Just awesome songs.

This is where the downfall began. I never could get into any of the other albums. I enjoyed certain songs off of the albums, but never could enjoy the whole thing. AT THE TIME. That is.

I listen to those albums now and I enjoy all of them-actually liking them a great deal. I guess I didn't get it back then.

I agree with the punk statement. Ed needs to abandon that dream.

As much as some tone deaf illegal immigrants on this page bash Pearl Jam and anything new they may do or experiment with, you'd think their La Bamba rip-off of a band has achieved Rolling Stones or Led Zeppelin status.

People analyze shit way too much. With me it's very simple.
If I like the music, I keep listening. If I don't like the music, I don't listen.

We're not around long enough to sit and worry about such nonsense.
